For the first time in
a long time, I am going to put away the makeup and write a personal post. It
has been a while since I have written a post like this, so we are long overdue
an update on what is going on in my life behind the blog.
2014 was a whirlwind
for me, and I changed a lot during the year. It was a year for change, learning and
growing. 2014 had some great moments and memories, but some months where
extremely tough for me. During the summer, my world was flipped upside down and
I had my heart broken. In my sensitive (and rather over dramatic) state, I
thought it was the end of the world, but I eventually discovered that it was
the best thing that could have happened to me at the time. I had lost myself
and over time had become a person that even I did not recognize anymore.
Thankfully, I had a lucky escape. My relationships with family and friends
could not have grown stronger, incredible opportunities had been opened up to
me and I found myself again. By the end of the year, I had become a happier, stronger
and more confident person.
2015 has begun with a
new job offer, a new relationship and my blog had hit a new milestone – there
are now 400 of you guys! Of course, a new year brings new years resolutions. I
have many resolutions for this year, like most of us I am to become financially,
mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally stable. Although that
resolution is somewhat unobtainable, (I can at least try, right?) I wanted to
share with you a few of my achievable goals for the next 12 months.
Health and Fitness
Luckily for me I was already an active person, I live in the gym and I love working out (Yes, I am "that" kind of girl) but I feel like I can work a bit harder. I have a few
fitness goals that I will not bore you with, but one thing I need to improve on
is healthy eating. I suck at it. Like most people, I would pick a cheeseburger
over a salad and I will happily eat an entire packet of digestives. However, you do not get abs without a clean diet so there has to be a
compromise somewhere. I would never restrict myself, a girl’s got to eat, but I
am going to make an effort be smarter with my meal choices and try to eat a
healthier diet.
Blog more
One of my goals for
this year is to blog more. I love blogging, but sometimes it is difficult to
find the time to sit down and write a post. I have decided that I need to make
time for my blog. I need to photograph more, write more, and connect with you guys more. There are now 400 of you reading my blog, and I want to make sure I have
high quality content for you to read on a weekly basis. Bear with me on this, I
am still trying to find a routine, but expect more posts from me this year.
Get creative
I lost touch with my
creative side last year, and I am determined to get it back. This year I intend
to get more creative with my photography, makeup, cooking and crafting. I love
to create, it is something that I have always been good at, but sometimes it is
something that you have to make time for. It is easy to become lazy and lack
motivation, but this year I really want to make an effort to get creative.
This post is getting
rather long now so I am going to wrap it up here. I will be amazed if anyone
manages to make it to the end of this post! Thank you for sticking through 2014
with me, I have a really good feeling about this year.
Looking forward to reading your blog over the next year! x
