I cannot help myself in Duty Free. Even though I knew very
well I was about to drain my bank account shopping in the states, I had to
treat myself to a little something. I had been eyeing up the Jo Malone counter
from afar for the past couple of months. The counter is a new(ish) addition to
Southampton, and I hadn’t had the opportunity to have a proper look around. To
pass the time in Heathrow, I finally had the time to wander around the Jo
Malone store and find out what all of the fuss is about.
After 30 minutes of taking in the array of candles and cologne’s,
I had found the perfect winter scent. The Wood Sage & Sea salt cologne had
my name written all over it, and it stole my heart. I’m lucky enough to live by
the sea, and I’m a sucker for anything related to sea salt, so I knew this was
something I was going to love before I even tried it out.
I wanted a perfume that was different than anything else I
currently own. I wanted something that was more of a toned down scent that
would be perfect for day-to-day wear. The Wood Sage & Sea Salt has notes of
Amberette Seeds, Sea Salt and Sage which give the perfume a clean, earthy and
fresh scent, something that I don’t typically go for. The word ‘Fresh’ is what
comes to mind when I spray this on my skin, it’s a very subtle scent that lasts
all day, which is why I grab for this most mornings. This is perfect for those
who want a break from the typical ‘sweet’ scents and want something that is
more sophisticated and more suitable for the colder months.
Jo Malone, you have captured my heart. I think I’m going to
love everything you create.
