Keepin' it Simple

3.29.2014

If already follow me on Twitter then you will know that I am now back in England after spending three months in the big ol' US of A, and I pretty much feel off the radar over the last week. To be honest, my days home have been spent trying to get over jet lag, the dreaded unpacking of the suitcase, and lots and lots of tears. A night in with my girlfriends and a much needed hair appointment have been my only excuses to leave the house, and right now I'm keeping things real simple.

I've constantly been sporting the top knot and yoga pants combo with a very fresh faced approach to my makeup. Although I enjoy applying a full face of makeup most of the time, this week I have simply not been in the mood for eye liner or highlighter. In between Skype calls, applying for jobs and a few sobs here and there, I have been applying a little makeup to make myself look (semi) presentable.

Due to the lack of sleep my skin is looking very dull and almost grey in colour (cheers, jet lag) so to add a bit of life to my face I have been priming my skin with That Gal from Benefit. This product has  a pink tone which has brightening affects to help my skin look much more healthy and adds that natural glow back into my face. I have been keeping my base light with my NARS Tinted Moisteriser, my go-to product for non-foundation days to even out redness on my cheeks and keep my skin looking dewy without a heavy finish. To conceal my dark circles I have been using my MAC pro long wear concealer, my absolute holy grail. Its a bit heavier than I would like to be wearing day-to-day right now, but this stuff covers under eye bags like a charm and doesn't crease at all, even with my eyes being as puffy as they have been. For blush I have been using Posietint which has been great for giving my cheeks a natural flush, but also its staying power. It gives my skin the prettiest hint of colour, and by the end of the day, its still going strong. Typically I like to go for defined brows and eyelashes, but a quick brush through my eyebrows with Gimmie Brow and a few swipes of Tartes Gifted mascara has been all I need and I'm good to go. I can do this makeup look in five minutes which is great for day to day wear, and I think my skin has really appreciated the lighter makeup lately!

  1. These products sound so good, the primer from Benefit is so appealing because I'm always on the lookout for products that are brightening or illuminating xxx

  3. I really need to add the Benefit Gimmie Brow to my collection, I'm really trying to sort my brows out and I think this would really help.

  5. Coming home from long trips is the worst! It always takes me forever to readjust to normal life so I can definitely feel your pain! I would love to read a more in-depth review of the Nars Tinted Moisturiser and specifically how you think it would go on oily skin types.
Hope you're feeling better soon! And of course good luck on the sleep catch-up :)

    1. Jetlag is a pain but I'm slowly getting through it :) I can do a review for the tinted moisteriser, I will try it out on my sister (who has oily skin) and let you know how it goes!
